Learn how to produce Faux finishes and decorative techniques and incorporate them into signage, advertising and print projects. Hand created effects of woodgrain, marbling, rag rolling and distressing are shown by our instructors who have over forty years of commercial application and knowledge in these fields.

  • Surface preparations
  • Paint recipes and background
  • Understanding techniques of wood graining
  • Understanding techniques of marbling
  • Understanding techniques of other decorative effects
  • Practical demonstrations by instructors of all effects
  • Student practice sessions throughout the day
  • Students will each produce, at a minimum, six examples of work to take away with them.
  • Overview of potential uses in the sign, graphics and print industries

Decorative and Faux Finishes basics 1 Day Course (2nd day)

  • Understanding techniques of wood graining continued
  • Understanding techniques of marbling continued
  • Understanding techniques of other decorative effects continued
  • Practical demonstrations by instructors of all effects continued
  • Student practice sessions throughout the day
  • Students will each produce, at a minimum, six examples of work to take away with them as well as two major projects
  • Overview of potential uses in the sign, graphics and print industries
  • Student to create two sign / graphics related projects
  • Project one – Wood grained Sign background with text and template provided
  • Project two – Marbled Sign background with text and template provided

You will be provided with a certificate of completion and attendance on successfully accomplishing the completed two day faux finish courses and workshops.
